Lockdown will increase in Delhi even after May 3?  Suggestions received to extend this date
New Delhi: Corono virus cases are on the rise in the national capital, meanwhile, a top official of the Delhi government's Kovid-19 committee has suggested that the lockdown needs to be extended by mid-May to overcome the epidemic.

The lockout in Delhi was announced by the Delhi government on 23 March, followed by a nationwide lockdown by the Center from midnight to 14 April on 24 March.  This was later extended to 3 May.

Dr. SK Sarin, chairman of the Delhi government's committee to counter the Kovid-19, said on Saturday, 'The epidemic graph is still climbing in India and therefore reducing restrictions will mean that cases will increase uncontrollably.  The number of containment zones in Delhi is high, so it would be wise to increase it, the lockdown will have to be extended till May 16.

Asked how the date of May 16 was estimated, he said that the first case of corona virus was reported in Delhi on March 3, and China's calculations on the epidemic showed that the epidemic graph was close to declining.  Takes 10 weeks.

Continuously increasing cases

The total number of corona virus cases in Delhi has increased to 2,625.  The death toll from this infection has increased to 54.  Currently 1,702 people in Delhi suffer from Kovid-19.  The number of containment zones in the national capital has increased to 95.

Some shops will open in Delhi

Apart from this, the Delhi government has decided to implement the new guidelines of the Center on opening single and neighborhood shops.  However, shops in the containment zone will remain closed and no activity will be allowed in such areas.  Single shops, shops located in residential premises will be allowed to open strictly following the rules of social distance.  Shops located in markets and malls in Delhi will remain closed till May 3 as mentioned in the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
